A Study of Two-Temperature Non-Equilibrium Ising Models: Critical Behavior and Universality
We study a class of 2D non-equilibrium Ising models based on competing dynamics induced by contact with heat-baths at two different temperatures. We make a comparative study of the nonequilibrium versions of Metropolis, heat bath/Glauber and Swendsen-Wang dynamics and focus on their critical behavior in order to understand their universality classes. We present strong evidence that some of thes...

متن کاملCritical behavior of hierarchical Ising models.
We consider the critical behavior of two-dimensional layered Ising models where the exchange couplings between neighboring layers follow hierarchical sequences. The perturbation caused by the non-periodicity could be irrelevant, relevant or marginal. For marginal sequences we have performed a detailed study, which involved analytical and numerical calculations of different surface and bulk crit...
متن کاملIsing cellular automata : universality and critical exponents
2014 Two-dimensional Ising-like cellular automata are simulated in zero field for 24 x 24 to 1600 x 1600 systems. We find that the mass fractal dimensionality at the onset of "chaos" (instability of "damage spreading") is 1.9, and dt = 1.3 for the time. These values are indistinguishable from those recently reported for the Kauffman cellular automata and close to those observed for percolation....
متن کاملPhase Transitions and Universality in Nonequilibrium Steady States of Stochastic Ising Models
We present results of direct computer simulations and of Monte Carlo renorrealization group (MCRG) studies of the nonequilibrium steady states of a spin system with competing dynamics and of the voter model. The MCRG method, previously used only for equilibrium systems, appears to give useful information also for these nonequilibrium systems. The critical exponents are found to be of Ising type...
